Please provide us your group's time frame, tour area and days, expected bike models and quantity, estimated number of persons and any special requests. Bosenberg provides your group a specific free-of-charge tour offer with prices and features on your requested itinerary. If requesting fewer tour days, your tour prices are reduced by a daily percentage across-the-board. For instance, two days less on a Swiss Alps tour (10 days instead of 12) costs 16% less for riders, 16% less for passengers, 16% less for a single room and 16% less for a model upgrade supplement. For 2 days less on a Castles and Grapes tour (6 days instead of 8) costs 25% less across-the-board for all cost areas. |
Alpine weekends attract riders from near and far. A complete tour brochure extract narrative is at the end of this page or review our Acrobat Reader PDF files page to download our tour brochure or page extracts. Our tour route map is also helpful for an overview on all tour routes. |

French & Swiss Alps tour narrative
|
Alpine regions offer motorcyclists more riding adventure and excitement than any other region in Europe. Choose this tour for riding the western Alps, select our Classic Alps & Dolomites tour for the eastern Alps or choose our Burgundy & Swiss Alps tour for a gourmet ride of a lifetime. Your ride has more curves and the natural beauty more rugged and open. The western Alps are less developed than their eastern relatives, but the riding adventure is arguably better. Of course, the French cuisine has no counterparts anywhere in the world... Everywhere you ride, there is something to delight the senses. Charming half- timbered cottages with window boxes bursting with colorful flowers...dark, quiet woods, fragrantly scented with pine... fairy tale castles around many curves and always beautiful scenery. Start your ride by winding along the Rhine river and through the vineyards and hills of Rhinehessen. Discover the Suedliche Weinstrasse and enter France by passing through the Maginot line. Join the Route du Vin and stay in a colorful Alsatian wine village. Ride south through vineyards and colorful towns.
Start to climb into rolling meadows and forests and cross into Switzerland. Experience the Gorges du Pichoux and Jura region. Stay in the delightful town of Murten where the entire town center is a medieval work of art. |
Visit Gruyeres and sample some cheeses bearing the town's name the world over. Explore the water fortress of Chillon, where Lord Byron's "Prisoner of Chillon" was incarcerated. See Mt. Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. Ride the Gorge des Eveaux, the Aravis chain and passes Col de la Colombiere, Col des Aravis and Gorges de'l Arondine. Challenge the Col de la Forclaz, Col des Esserieux, Col de la Madeleine and Col de la Croix. No matter which way you plan to ride, Alpine vistas, rushing rivers, cows grazing on high pastures and villages of flowered chalets welcome you. Even the most ardent sport riders take time to enjoy the flowers. Enjoy a full 3 day stop in the charming village of Megeve. |
|
Travel the "Route of the Grand Alps" and "Olympic Valley". See Albertville and site of the 1992 winter Olympics. How about a day trip to the cosmopolitan city of Geneva? Or why not ride a loop around Lake Geneva with stops in the medieval village of Yvoire or the spa town of Evian or resort of Montreaux? Dozens of French Alpine passes present themselves to you. For starters how about the Col des Granges, Col de Restefond, Cormet de Roselend, Col de Vars, Col de l'Iseran, and the Col du Mt. Cenis. If you look hard enough, you just may see the ghost of Hannibal and his elephants, who scaled this same pass 25 centuries ago.
Enter Italy and ride the Aosta valley. Climb once more and cross into Switzerland on the special Col du Grand St. Bernard. Tackle the Grimsel pass. Explore the wood-carvers village of Brienz am Brienzersee. See the post card picture perfect valley with towering waterfalls in the secluded village of Lauterbrunnen. |
Take the highest European mountain rail through Mt. Eiger to the Jungfraujoch in the Berner Oberland mountain area. Enjoy an incredible view of the largest glacier in Europe, the Aletsch. Experience a cogwheel or cable car ride to the Mount Pilatus summit. Visit Lucerne with its "Wooden Chapel" bridge and historical Altstadt. Greet the highest and best-known Swiss passes such as the Susten, Nufenen and Gotthard. Challenge the Grimsel and Furka passes with their superb sweeping curves and unforgettable vistas. Stop by the Fritz Egli garage in the town of Bettwil. Considered by many to be the best engine tuner and frame constructor in Europe, he calls himself simply "a mechanic". Ride the Black Forest High Road with its hills and curves, open meadows and green valleys. With luck you may hear a real cuckoo or more likely purchase an authentic smaller version of the Black Forest's most famous product. See the "Student Prince" university town of Heidelberg. Visit the Altstadt (Old City) with its historical center. Your tour is almost over as you mount your steed one last time, ride the cobblestone streets and enter the Autobahn for a short and fast ride towards Frankfurt/Main. |
